Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
My brother & his kids
My brother is going away to jail for 6 mo-3 yrs. on a drug related charge. Him & his family (kids are 16, 6 & 2) were living in a house my father owned. My sister-in-law refuses to work so my father is paying all the bills. He can not carry this financial burden. Can he kick her out of the house?

Re: My brother & his kids
Good Lord. We don't usually get this kind of idiocy in your part of the State.
Can he kick out that woman? Probably.
Can she refuse to work and support herself and her 3 kids? Good Lord. What is she thinking?
Your father needs to sit down with an attorney, and if he and your mother want to take away the kids and help them, then the attorney needs to know a bit about divorce law too (taking kids away and having your folks care for them is a divorce law type issue).
And your brother - long jail time. Huge problem.
