Child Wants to change homes

My 17 yr old son wants to start spending more time with his father's home, at what age can he make the decision to switch homes and what has to be done legally to make this happen?

If you and the father agree it is a simple matter to prepare a consent order providing for the revised custody/visitation.

Call me if you like.
