Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Child Cusotdy

My son is 17 months old. The only home he has ever know has been with me. His father does not pay support. I have no problem with him having visitation. 3 hours, 2 nights a week and all day saturday. i feel he is too young to be sleeping at a different house every other night and he has very bad asthma and is on my health insurance. so i prefer it that i have sole custody of our son and he has visitation. what are the odds of this happening, and what do i need to do?

Re: Child Cusotdy

It is very sensible to ask for 'no overnight visitation' until the child is older.

You need to get things in order. You need to go to Court get primary residential custody with limitations on viaitation based on the child's medical problems and age.
