my daughter is giving us her 16 yr old son to raise and care for. what kind of letter do i need her to sign. asnd i assumme i would need tio get it notaruzed

I would suggest going to see an attorney that focuses on adoption. You can have all the letters from her you want, but I don't see what good it will do. It seems like you want to adopt the child and I suggest you do just that. Otherwise, your rights regarding the child will be severly limited.

I would think that you would need multiple, original copies of your daughter giving you power of attorney

to make medical decisions for your grandchild and be advised of his progress as a student. Each person with whom you interact using the power of attorney will want a notarized power of attorney with the

original signatures of your daughter

and the notary.
