Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Child Custody

I am the father of a 22 mo. old child. The mother & I never married and for the child's entire life she has been in & out of jail for drugs, theft prostitution etc...There was a DYFS case against her with a ruling of temporary custody in my favor. She was bailed out of jail recently & is demanding to see my son. Of course, I don't want this, I would like to have her parental rights terminated. Is there anything i can do?

Re: Child Custody

You can obtain an Order greatly restricting he access to the child until she reasonably demonstrates that she has undergone rehabilitation to a degree that she can be trusted, gradually, to have more and more access to the child.

At the present time it appears that all parenting time with the child by the mother should be supervised and that, at a minimum, she

should submit urine samples to the probation department which must be negative for illict drugs in order for her to have even supervised visitation.

Call me if you like.

Mr. Moore hit it on the head. You could do this without an attorney but if you can afford it, you might want to get one to really make sure things are done right.

My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 and we can discuss your case.
