Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

child custody

we are foster parents of an infant who has been in our home since the age of 2 weeks (from the hospital) and is now 9 1/2 months of age. Both parents are unfit to raise her. Mother has given up costody and father gives his sister permission, however, this sister, who has custody of 4 of their other kids and 1 or 2 of her own is well over capacity. Recently the judge states that a waiver could be signed to still give her custody if her home is fixed up or she moves. Now this has always been the case and she has yet to do so, but he's giving her another chance. She has also asked for assistance to care for the kids that are in her home already. My question, is there any thing we can do to fight this...do we have any rights as foster parents. We meet all qualifications and have taken very good care of the child. She is family. We love her and can supply 100's of witnesses, including DYFS workers to prove so. Please help if you can.

Re: child custody

DYFS should be in the best position to help you. Otherwise, you could get your own attorney to fight this.
