Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

child ''kidnapped'' by mother & taken out of state by mother

couple married in new jersey, 13 months later had baby in nj. mother of child decides that the father is not ''involved'' enough in child raising and, with 12 WEEK old baby, she hops on plane to California to live. father needs to know parental rights.

did mother kidnap child? does father owe support? did she ''abandon'' husband and family residence? would any subsequent divorce be under california or nj law? is there anything else he needs to know?

thank you.

She can be made to hop anotgher plane and bring that child back to New Jersey or face arrest in California and extradition to New Jersey.

That is horrible. She is wrong, and you have some options. Some very, very strong options.

There is no way to advise you over this bulletinboard.

Get a lawyer onboard, and get some action going now. Get a lawyer.

He should really file a motion to get her back here. This happens way too often.
