child wants to live with other parent
my step daughter is 15 will be 16 in may, she wants to move in with her father and i, how could she go about doing this we want to help her but dont want to get blamed for her making this decision on her own. she came to us and asked if she could live with us. we live in camden county new jersey. she is affraid her mother will try and stop her from doing this and her father does not want any problems, with his ex wife. all he wants to do is support his daughter with this situation.

It is a common situation. Either the mother is too strict in the child's mind or there is some basic incompatibility between her and her mother.
First, the father should talk to the mother and explain the situation and his overriding desire to avoid court
and the expense that each will incur hiring attorneys. Failing same a motion can be filed with the court for residential custody based on the daughter's wishes.

You two have the file the motion for her so you have to get involved. Due to her age, this shouldn't be that hard and you probably don't need a lawyer unless the other side gets one.
