Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

child support

I was awarded child support, but the amount is temporary sinece my ex is on unemployment. We are due back in court in 90 days, so they can review his employment. I have since learned that he has moved to Denver. Will they still make a new support judgement against him?

Yes. When, and if, he obtains employment, his wages can be attached.

If he fails to appear when he was noticed of the hearing date the matter can proceed in his absence.

The problem is enforcing the court order in another state. There is a legal structure whereby the order can be enforced in Denver, an interstate compact.
