Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
Child Support
I have a case in which I am a Defendant in a New Jersey Child Support case. I filed a Motion to Decrease Child Support and the Plaintiff did not show up. My Motion was dismissed it wasn't granted or denied. I appeared telephonically because I live in Florida. What can I do now? Isn't she supposed to be penalized for doing that? She was properly served. Thanks

Re: Child Support
If your motion was dismissed, it was denied. You need the reason it was denied. The Court could have entered a default judgment againsther since she was properly served. So there is a piece of the puzzle still missing. Once you get the order show it to an attorney and he can tell you the next step
Re: Child Support
If you do not know why your case was dismissed it means that you need an attorney. I can represent you without your coming to court physically but appearing telephonically. I appears that your motion papers were defective in some way.
