Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Child Support

My ex-wife is signing my children up for all these activities which she is stating that I am responsible for half the fees. I give her a substantial amount of child support each month. Am I legally responsible for half these fees? I was under the impression that that is what child support is for. What is she possibly using all the money I give her every month for? HELP!

Re: Child Support

It all depends on how much income your have. The child of an affluent father is going to have piano lessons, ballet lessons, summer camp. On the other hand your basis child support obligation is to pay child support in accordance with the child support guidelines and your fair share of day care expenses. To give you more information than this requires at least a telephone conversation. You might call me.

This will depend on a couple of things, including what your divorce agreement or the court judgment of divorce says, and your finances and your ex's finances. If you want to consult me, please call 973 890 0400. The answer will depend on the facts of your situation.
