Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

child support

I gave my children up for adoption to my sister years ago. She has been caring for them as her own ever sence. Now she is trying to sue me for child support. They are taking it out of my check. how can i stop this...I thought i had given up my parental rights but i didn't sign anything... I am having trouble trying to support my new family i'm starting because of the loss in wages...what can i do please help!!!

It is unclear whether or not you are in NJ or Indiana, but unless you have an Order saying that the children were adopted they were not adopted. I suggest you consult an attorney immediately.

I would need a lot more facts before I can give you a good answer. However, the most important thing for you to do is to get a lawyer. Not only will he or she be able (hopefully) to get you out of this mess but he or she will also be able to represent you in court so you don't have to come out here.
