child support

hell i am 19 yo from nj with a full time job and go to school full time, and my question is, if my mother recieved child support from my father for me, can she still charge me rent on top of that.

You are 19 years old and live with mama, you use the past tense of received child support. Being very technical as I must assume you are emancipated. Then, yes your mother may demand rent. I can also assume that you are not emancipated. Are you a full-time high school or college and your mother is still receiving child support for you from your father? This presents the horse of a different color situation. The answer again is not clear for me. That may be an issue. For example, the amount of child support, the amount of your earnings or assets upon which the rent is based--all of these and more may be relevant. I again assume you are working and have a cash flow. At your age, it is more likely that your parent with whom you are living would seek a contribution. You may be right but more information would be required to answer this question. The alternative might be an unfortunate situation for your familt if you were to press this issue. At 19 in other states you are on your own at 18. Good luck!
