Re: child support
If you were in NJ, I would tell you to just go to court. However, since you are in CA, you will need an attorney to do that for you. However, how will you pay for an attorney if you cannot afford your child support?
I'm going to need more information before I can point you in the right direction. Feel free to email me or call me as my initial consultations are always free.
I'm going to need to know how much you pay in child support, how much you make per year, how many children you are supporting, the ages of the children, how much you made when the child support was set, what happened that caused your income to drop and what county this case is in.
Re: child support
You do not need to come to New Jersey
to file a motion to reduce child support. You need to hire an attorney in New Jersey to whom you will send all documents relating to your child support case. The attorney will then send you the appropriate financial statement form and advise as to what informantion you must provide. The attorney will communicate with you and learn about your complete financial history and present financial situation and prepare the necessary papers which will be emailed to you for your consideration and comments and between you the papers will be brought up to snuff via email. You will then sign the signature pages of the documents
prepare in this way and fax those pages to the attorney you hire who will attach his certification relating to you faxed signatures and
file all appropriate papers and documents along along with a request
for the reduction of child support which is called a motion. You will appear at your hearing by speakerphone from California and save a great deal of time and money.
I am that attorney. Call me if you like on Monday.
