Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

child support /paternity NJ

Hello

I was charged with paternity and ordered to pay child support in 1985 when I was 17. I had no parent , guardian or repres. of any kind. I have never seen the child or the mother ever since 1984.

The child is now 22 years old. I am married taking care of 2 little children, and my license is susp. over this.

IS THIS LEGAL?

Should 'nt I have had a parent or lawyer with me, and is'nt it past the time any way.

Some advise is greatly appreciated

Thank you
