Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Child support payments

My finance pays child support to the mother of his child. When we get married I will be quitting my job. He will be making the only household income. Will this affect his child support payments to the mother of his child, since he will be supporting me? Or will the payment amount only decrease after we have a child? thank you.

Re: Child support payments

Mr. Moore is correct. Your income or lack of, means nothing. It will be only if you have a child.

Re: Child support payments

When you have a child the child support payment can be recalculated by the court, taking into account the obligation to support that child. The reduction will not be earth shattering.
