Child Support

If I quit my current employer and get a job at a lower paid possition, can I ask for a reduction on my child support payments?

No, you will not get the reduction. In my experience the court will impute income to you at the prior level since you "quit" your job.

If you reduction in income is the result of your voluntary act you do not get a support reduction.

If you quit your job and the Court finds that it was done willfully to avoid the support obligation, the Judge may deny your application for Downward Modification.
