Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Above and beyond child support... ?

Hi,

Thanks for reading. Just curious. I'm a divorced dad (about 10 years now). I pay child support regularly and provide all insurance coverages for my son. I have also freely given money in addition to child support for league fees, equipment, and other stuff.

The problem I am having is that my exwife routinely drops emails in my box that assume I'll pay for this and that. She is unresponsive to my request to discuss things before promissing my son that I'll pay. Instead, she tells him I'll pay it AND THEN emails me to tell me I'll pay.

This is obviously not cool of her, but as long as I keep on paying she probably figures, ''What the hey?'' As mentioned, she is unresponsive and can get hostile when asked to communicate. She's a tough cookie.

I'm almost positive I don't have to pay any of this above and beyond stuff, but how would you approach these sort of smug assumptions?

Thanks.

She is responsible for paying for her share of the expenses of supporting your child.

You should tell her that if she continues to incur expenses for your to pay without consulting you you will pay only what is required under the child support guidelines.
