Child support as it relates to father's custodial rights and use of his last nam

If I want child support from a man who doesn't believe that I'm pregnant with his child, will do nothing for us, is verbally and has been physically abusive toward me do I have to give him visistation and will the child have to have his last name?

This is a very complicated situation. First of all, the paternity of the child cannot be established with certainty until after birth. At that point, if he denies paternity, blood tests will be ordered. Assuming he is the father, he will be ordered to pay child support. On the other hand, he will also be entitled to visitation. If you can establish that he is abusive, this will not necessarily negate visitation, although supervision may be in order.
