Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

child support

i had a son 11 years ago, right after he was born she left the state (not married) without a word, never got to see him until he was 3 for 2 hours, havent seen him since She returned to sc and then filed for child support. Did she have the right to do this and do I have any rights.
