Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

child support

my son's father has recently been released from prison but the court did not hold him in custody for his non payment of child support, they closed the case, I was unaware of the fact that the court can just close my case without informing me of this serious situation, what legal rights do I have to bring my case back into the family court system, or is it just dropped while a person is incarcerated.

Re: child support

The case was probably closed because he was in jail. You have to let probation know he is out of jail

Re: child support

I do not know of any reason why your case would have been closed. You may file at any time for child support. If you would like to further discuss this matter please feel free to contact my secretary, Debbie, at 856-795-6700, to schedule a consultation.
