Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Child support/Visitation/Custody

I've been paying $123 a week on child support for my son, now my ex wife for years has demanded $120 a month aside from my weekly obligations claiming it's for healthcare. I've obliged by this for years because I never wanted anything to get between my son and I. I recently stopped paying this extra cash because I want to know wether my child support payments covers all aspects of child care which I presume, if not, can some one elaborate please? because she is not letting me pick up my son even though I satisfy my weekly support payments as I feel she is just interested in cash and not the feelings of our son or the relationship we have. Also at what age can a child determine which parent he wants to live with? given that my son is 14 years old and badly wants to live with me, thank you.

Re: Child support/Visitation/Custody

You should really sit down with an attorney and work all of this out. Sounds like you should file a custody motion. That would solve all of your problems.

My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.

Re: Child support/Visitation/Custody

It sounds like it is time for you to go back to Court to get some clarification. You need to file for both a modification of support as well as a modification of custody.

By the way, her actions in not letting you see your son may be found to be contempt of court and would then subject her to penalties....

Get in touch if you need anything else.
