While it is not written anywhere, 14 is the age where the child's say has a great impact on the court's decision. At about 16, its whatever the child says goes unless there is some amazing evidence you can put forward.

A child desire to visit with a parent is always of considerable importance. It is the child's desire to reside with one parent or another which has greater weight when the child nears the age of adulthood, fourteen years or older, roughly.
