child's age to choose homes

how old does a child have to be able to ask to move to other parent's home?

The closer a child is to the age 18 the greater weight is given to his residence preference. Ages fifteen to seventeen is when a child's desire to change residence is usually given great weight.

I agree with Mr. Moore, some judges may go with 14, but 15 is a good rule of thumb. However, that is not the only issue. You may want to consult with an attorney before taking any action here.
