child's father

My husband would like to adopt my daughter so that she can have his last name. . .how do I go about that since there is no known biological father?

I assume that the child was born as a consequence of artificial insemination where the father's identity is unavailable. If this is the case, the Court would require documenttation of this fact; your consent to the adoption. You are going to need the services of an attorney.

I have read what the other attorney wrote.

You will need a lawyer to help you. You may end up publishing in a newspaper, or taking other steps to give 'notice' to the biological father.
