Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

I am a U.S citizen and my husband is a foreign alien who lives in Sri Lnaka. We have a pending divorce case going on in Sri Lanka. Is it possible for him to file another divorce case here in NJ, while a case is pending in Sri Lanka ?

If you have a divorce case in another country, which is pending, a complaint for divorce, filed in

New Jersey, can be the subject of a motion for dismissal of the case in New Jersey.

Mr. Moore is correct, but wouldn't it be better for you to litigate here, since you reside in NJ?

Were you properly served with the Sri Lanka Complaint, and are you represented by counsel there? These questions need to be answered to properly advise you.
