Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

I am a U.S citizen and have been separated since the last 15 years. My husband left me and moved back to India, with my son. I tried fighting the battle in India, but the Indian courts always ruled in his favor when it came to child custody and maintenance. I now want to file for divorce in NJ and need some advise and a lawyer. If I file for divorce here in NJ and my husband comes to U.S to defend, would I have to pay substantial alimony or would the court consider the fact that since we have been separated for 15 years, my income during the last 15 years would not have to be given. Please advise

Given the fact that your marriage has been factually, although not legally, dead for more than fourteen years and the additional fact that you never supported him financially, there would be no alimony paid by you.

Call me if you like.
