Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
Civil action summons for support
I have a civil action summons for support from my ex girlfreind for our daughter. I have a copy of an online conversation we had where she agreed to the amount i would be paying her, plus I already have 1 cancelled check that she cashed. Will this hold up in court against her?? Also if the judge decides to deem a different amount do they take into acount that I live with & partially support my 86 year old mother?? I pay for rent, cable, & food.

Your supportof your mother will be taken into account and your recording of your conversation as to the amount of support will be considered by the court. You need to hire an attorney.
Call me if you like.

Is this support action filed in New Jersey against you? If so, the agreement would not be binding because New Jersey uses child support guidelines, and child support is based on each person's gross pay, less certain mandatory deductions.
