Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

claims on property

I have filed divorce papers v my

husband who lives in Australia and

whom I haven;t seen in 2 years. He will

not sign them.

I want to purchase property but am

afraid that he will have a claim on half.

We have no property or children

between us as it stands.

Does he have a claim on what I aquire

even though I have filed?

Re: claims on property

The filing of a complaint for divorce marks the factual end of your marriage in terms of defining items acquired during the marriage.
