Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

College payments

My parents divorced when I was 9 months old. In the divorce papers, it said that my father was responsible for half of all of my expenses, above and beyond child support. He led me to believe that my college education would be taken care of and that I wouldn't have to worry about it. I recently graduated, and my mom and stepdad have taken care of their half. My father claims he had money put away for my education, but, ''OOPS! I lost it in the stock market...sorry.'' This was 12 years ago, and I have documentation of this statement. Needless to say, after many attempts to reason with him, he refuses to pay for his half. He feels his child support covered college tuition for the five years I was there and that he is not responsible to pay anything above and beyond the child support. My father has been remarried since 1992, neither of them have any other children, and they have no financial hardships. I now have a loan which I was led to believe I would not have had. What are my legal options in terms of getting him to pay what he promised me he would?
