Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
college tuition
My childs father refuses to honor a court ordered college tuition contribution.I have sent him a certified letter which he has refused to pick up at the post office. I have also left several messages on his answering maching to let him know of the tuition due date as per the court order. He has responded the last three semesters but not this time. What recourse do I have to have him abide by the court order.

first, try to see whether you can get the Probation Office for your county to help you; they are free and usually good. This is not likely to work, because it sounds (I am guessing) that this is not the kind of Order that Probation has the power to enforce. But try.
If not, then off to the lawyer you go, and file a motion to force payment and force him to pay the money which you will have to spend on an attorney.
Good luck to you.

You can file a motion with the Court for an Order compelling the payment of tuition by imposing financial sanctions for failing to do same.
Call me if you like.

I agree with Mr. Moore. Just go file the motion. You probably don't need an attorney unless things get pretty crazy, i.e. he gets one.
