Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Computer analysis and custody

I am going through an ugly custody and relocation battle with my son's father. We were never maried and now he claims that I have sent him harassing texts messages via the computer and wants my computer analyzed. Can anyone tell me the connection btw the two; Custody, relocation and my computer. Can any judge grant this request and why? I have not commited any crime to have my private life invaded upon like this.

I had a client go through the same thing. He can say that your actions make you an unfit parent. I would need more info to give you a better opinion on the computer analysis issue.

Sounds like you are gearing up for a big fight with him, I suggest you at least speak to an attorney so that you are ready if this case goes to court.

For the Court to order to examination of your computer requires some substantial demonstration that you sent him emails, not just an unsupported suspicion. Secondly, an examination of your computer entails a very substantial invasion of your privacy. You should resist strongly.
