Confidentiality in Joint Marriage Counseling

My wife and I are about to see a marriage counselor and were wondering if and what we say in our private sessions can come out when we have joint sessions.

Re: Confidentiality in Joint Marriage Counseling

This area of law is a bit dangerous. Confidentiality may depend on what type of counsellor you are seeing.

If you are thinking of a divorce, if there is any chance that you may, then please get some advice before you start counselling sessions. You may end up having what you say be used against you in a court of law during the divorce.
