Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
custody battle
My ex-boyfriend and I went to court. He admitted doing drugs but wouldn't agree to supervised visits, so the judge suspended his parenting time until we go to court for a custody hearing. As soon as the judge said that, he asked the judge how he can go about having the kids taken away from me by the state because I abuse them. Of course this is not true, the judge didn't even ask him any questions like '' what do you mean abuse?'' Now Ihear that he is saying that he is going to take the kids a way from me. He admitted to doing drugs, tells the courts e is homeless and is collecting unemoployment. I work a full time job for 5 years and take care of my kids. Do I have anything to worry about? Also He showed no prrof of income, they took his word for how much he makes a week from unemployment i know he makes $100.00 more a week then he told them. Can I do anything about that?

Re: custody battle
Yes, there is a lot that you can do.
You are likely to be more successful if you hire a divorce attorney (these are divorce type problems).
Re: custody battle
You should really have an attorney help you with all this. While I don't think he'll go far with these allegations, they cannot be treated lightly.
