Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

custody

My brothers ex is moving out of state with my nephew, they have joint custody she says she doesn't have an address or telephone number where they are going. Legally doesn't she need to provide this before leaving the state. We were going to fight her move but we were told that it was not easy to stop the move.

Re: custody

It's true; the law now strongly favors the residential parent in his/her right to move. The best your brother can do is seek competent counsel and do what he needs to do to maintain as close a relationship as possible with the child. Good luck! Rob Gleaner
