Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Custody

I have been divorced 5 years from an abusive, alcoholic husband. He is constantly in my life in some way.. and has always lived within 5 minutes of me, and in the same neighborhood. He knows when I come and go and what I do because he constantly asks the children. I am now engaged to a man I have been with for over 4 years, and who lives in NY. I want to take the children and move there. I want some peace in my life, and I will never get it with this guy living around the corner. The children are ok with it. Most of their visits with him end up with them calling me to pick them up because he is drunk and being verbally abusive. His now live in girfriend has filed for restraining orders 3 times but never followed through because he is abusive with her as well. I need to get my kids away from this and in a more secure environment, away from such an abusive man.
