Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
Serious Custody Question...
I am a Criminal Student and am attempting to help my cousin build a case. He has four children total. Two of his children were with a previous girlfriend, who moved the kids to another country close to 4-5 years ago. He is paying her a large about of childsupport almost half of his monthly income. She has not and will not give him any information of his kids at all. He does not even have any rcurrent pictures. He also has two children with an ex girlfirend. He is having a hard time supporting the children here because of the amount of support. He has been to court four times trying to get information about his older children who he wants visitation with and to lower his support. The judge has told him he waited to long to fight for visitation. Does anyone have any idea of what approach he should he should take to get visitation of his children?

Re: Serious Custody Question...
In these situations where the person has proceeded pro se for a long time, I always suggest getting an attorney to undo the mess that can be caused by a judge ruling on the pro se motions. There is no such thing as waiting too long for visitation. Furthermore, I don't see how his child support should be half of his income. That doesn't make any sense. He needs an attorney to "reset" the entire case by filing the proper motions and putting forth a strong fight to get what he deserves. My initial consultations are always free so call me at 732/247/3340 and we can discuss his case.
Good luck!
Re: Serious Custody Question...
My suggestion: save his money. hire a meat-eating, smart and nasty divorce attorney who is a regular, who goes to divorce court in his county all the time. Ask some lawyers in his county (I could do this for him, if he is in northern NJ) to recommend such an attorney. Save your money more.
and then fight.
