Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

custody, support & protection

I am a father/provider of a 7 yr. old boy that lives with me full time with the mother having visitation rights under a non court ordered mutual agreement between her and I. I am looking for guidence/proceedure on filing for full custody & child support. Also, the mother is living with a ''former'' drug user/herion addict that is not related, that was just released from a treatment center. Is there a protection order that I can get from the courts so that when the mother has her visitation with my son the ''Former'' drug user will not be allowed to be near nor have contact with my child?

Re: custody, support & protection

First, I would suggest you get an attorney but it sounds like you want to do this by yourself.

You need to go to court and just file a motion, its kind of a fill in the blank form, not that hard. Just put in there what you want and tell that to the Judge when you go to court. I don't want to give you any law to cite to as doing so without understanding it can only get you in trouble. Thus, that is why I suggest you get an attorney.

Should you have any other questions, call me at 732/247/3340. My initial consultations are always free.
