Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

My Daughter is 19 years old and attends college as a full time student. I do receive child support but I am being told that there is a new law that does not allow child support and assistance with college tuition. Her biological father would only be responsble for one or the other. She still resides with me on a full time basis. Is this true? Why would he not be responsible for support if she still lives at home with me??

Thank you, Michelle

Michelle,

I agree that the information folks are giving you is

incorrect. Your first step is to review your property settlement agreement for guidance. In New Jersey, a child attending college is likely still entitled to receive child support. Contact an attorney as soon as possible.
