Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Hi Dear Lawyer,

My husband went to the lawyer for the divorce. We've been married for almost 13 years. We have a seven year old child. I'd like to find out what's the NJ law about alimony and child support, assets subidivision. I have arental property that me and my parents bought 10 years before I got married. My parents gave/loaned us money for the downpayment of the house we got when we got married. I've input around 90-95% of the amount for downpayment, and he only 10-5%. I have stopped working when I was pregnant aproximately 7 year ago. 4 years ago I went to work for approximately a year. I 've received unemployment. A year ago I borrow approximately $100 k from my mom and $450 k from HELOC and purchased 4 properties (in LLC) that I've rehabed and am renting it out to pay all the LLC bills. Can you please tell me what are my rights and what should I do?

Thank you and have a great day.

Anita

You should speak to a lawyer and hire one ASAP. I hate to be so quick about it but your questions could only be answered after speaking with you for quite some time. Furthermore, even if I was able to give you some advice, I'm not sure it would be of much use without a lawyer to help you. Some lawyers, such as myself and several others who are on this site, have free consultations. So, there is no reason not to pick up the phone can call a lawyer. You have nothing to lose.
