Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Defamation of character by wife

My ex-wife forced my children to say I was abusive to them and to call DYFUS. She continues to tell people I was abusive to her and the kids plus that I don't pay my child support. My oldest daughter has now told the ex guardian ad litum she lied about me because she was afraid of her mother and her mother has had her break into a boyfriends car to steal his pot and into his house to take his stuff. And other equally outragious stuff. I am fighting for custody of my daughters, but can I bring a civil suit against my ex and her mother in my behalf or my daughters for mental cruelty defamation of character pain and suffering anything. I don't know the law but if justice was the issue they both would be guilty.

I suggest that you investigate the possibility of getting the district attorney to file a criminal action for perjury. As for the civil action, you may want to have a discussion with the guardian to join in a proper course of action.

I am not an attorney in your jurisdiction and I suggest you seek the advice of local legal counsel.
