Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

I'm the defendant in the middle of a very long, (2yr) divorce process, to whereas the plaintiff has been in contempt of court to 17 issues. There has been a complete lack of compliance, and now the judge has set a deadline of June 6, 2011 to drop the entire case! I'm in shock, & I want to know if this is legal? Is there a statute of limitations? Are my rights being violated? I was married for 17 years, I have three children, and was only issued Pendente Lite support in 2009. It's so minimal, I've had to result in the use of food stamps. The plaintiff owns over 5 million dollars of mortgage-free real estate. I really need help!

You do need an attorney if you do not already have one. From your facts it is not clear why the case is not moving forward. If nothing happens in court, the court will dismiss matters for lack of prosecution or failure to pursue your case.

I would be happy to follow up with you. Please email me directly or call my office if you would like to schedule an appointment either in person or by telephone. My contact information is listed in the links below.
