Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Dependent

My son, his girlfriend and their 5 month old baby live with me. They have lived with me since his girlfriend was pregant. My son works but does not make enough money to support himself let alone the girlfriend and baby. They pay nothing to live with me and I basically provide for all their support. I buy everything for the baby from formula, baby food and diapers. Can I claim her as a dependent on my income tax over my son claiming her.

Thank you

Re: Dependent

You should be speaking with an accountant.

Perhaps you should be claiming all three of them, or at least two of them on your taxes.
