Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Desertion in New Jesey

My wife has recently told me by text message that she no longer wishes to remain married. The exact wording of the text message is ''I've always hated being married, it's not you, it's a mental thing.'' She refuses to allow our son to remain in our house, insisting that if she leaves she will take him because ''he is MY son''

I feel very strongly that it is in his best interests to have his primary residence remain the same, especially considering the fact he has a stronger relationship with me.

Do I have any shot at retaining custody?

I'm sure you have "a shot". But is it a shot in the dark or something much better? That I can't tell you until I know much more. My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.
