Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
divorce before bankrupty0
My wife and I have not lived together for the past 10yrs. She has lived in the home and rised the 3 kids. I have paid the mortgage, taxes ect. 2 of my 3 kids my graduated from college and the last is entering this fall. My wife has been on SSI the last 10yrs. In Dec.07 I became unemployed and fell behind in all my bills as well as the mortgage. Wife wants to stay in house, i want no part of house or assets. I recent found a job but not what I had been making. My living expense have changed and can longer pay as I've done in the past. I want a divorce but can't afford a lawyer to handle a complicate case. I have no problem with child support but will i have to pay alimony forever? Since I live in Maryland, should I file in Maryland?
