Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
I want a Divorce.
Good Day,
I live in Florida for 10 months now. My husband and boys (15 & 16) are in New Jersey. I want a divorce but want nothing from my husband. What do I need to do. I make minimum working for the county as a Secretary. I make $10 an hour.
My husband makes about $60 an hour would I be made to pay child support and if so, how much
Thank you

Re: I want a Divorce.
The law provides that since you have resided in florida for more than six months, you can file for a divorce in florida. Child support is paid by the parent who the children do not live with and is calculated using the income of both parents. Review my web page for more helpful information at www.attorney-4u.com
Re: How to proceed to get a divorce
It would probably be easiest for you to get a NJ lawyer to move the matter along for you. You would be required to pay child support but probably not too much in light of the disparity in your incomes. Child support in NJ is controlled by the Child Support Guidelines and a careful analysis needs to be made of your income situation and payments made by each of you for the children before a determination as to the amount can be made. Since it appears that you have not retained an attorney, before you take any action, you should contact an attorney (either me or someone else) to discuss your matter in more detail. A full review of your matter will be made and only then will you be able to rely on the advice given. I will be happy to assist you. However, you need to call me at 856-546-8010. If you mention LawGuru, there will be no charge for your first consultation. Good luck! Rob Gleaner
