divorce in NJ
can a husband an indian citizen married under hindu marriage act file and get a divorce in NJ, usa.wife is contesting the grounds and says that only indian courts can decide the divorce

As long as you both are here, you can get divorced here. I have plenty of clients who were married in India and are getting divorced here.

She is wrong. So long as you have lived here for one year or longer, you can file for a divorce in New Jersey.

If one has been a resident of New Jersey for a year he is entitled to file for divorce with the Superior Court of New Jersey no matter where he
was married. New Jersey does not apply Hindu law; it applies the laws of New Jersey
