Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Divorcing due to alcoholism

I have made the decision to divorce my husband as he refuses to get any help for his drinking problem. It is daily and have even left the apartment that we share. I want him out as it is in my name. I really dont know the first steps

In my opinion, the first step in any divorce case is to at least see an attorney, if not hire one. Call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss. Give it a few hours and some other good attorneys will respond to this question as well.

I agree with the other guru answers --you will need to file for divorce if you are certain that this is what you want. Having an attorney will help make this easier but a divorce is never an easy thing.

If the apartment is in your name, does your spouse wish to remain and pay the freight? If you want him out, you may need to file a motion.

There are many questions that are best answered by a lawyer. Filing for divorce is the step once you make a firm decision.
