Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
Divorcing my Parents
I am 18 years old and I want to divorce my parents but I can't find any real information on it. My home is abusive but I have no actual proof except the 2 times I went to the police. Also is it to late because I'm 18. I also have no money, they sold my car and have my life savings. Is there any way I can have some money from them to pay for an apartment and possibly school? I don't really know much about this process and such but I know I want to do this. My parents themselves are divorced and they have some weird agreement about paying for my school but I don't know how that works.

"Divorce your parents", while collecting your assumed support entitlements? Why, you little ingrate.

Re: Divorcing my Parents
Once you are 18, you are free from your parents. If you are in an abusive situation you can call the police. Also, I would suggest you try to contact the Covenant House. They are in Newark and Atlantic City. If your parents have taken what is yours you can sue to get it back
