Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
Document for sole legal custody
My ex-wife is planning to permanently leave the country and she has agreed to grant me sole legal & physical custody of our young daughter. I've been advised that a notarized legal document that attests the above and is executed by both of us is sufficient. How do I properly word this document so that it will be recognized as a valid, legal custody agreement once it's executed by both parties? She is leaving very soon, and unfortunately there is no time to proceed in any other fashion. Thanks in advance.

It may sound like I'm trying to lure you into the office, but I would not casually suggest a draft for something like this without a thorough discussion of the facts.
